Another recommendation from Paul the taxi driver in Carvoeiro. You probably wouldn't pick this this restaurant in Foia above the hills in Monchique because of it's stunning exterior, and even the interior where the tables were cramped and there was a TV blaring Portuguese news in the corner. But if you want the best chicken piri piri you've ever tasted, this is the place! It comes served on a platter (3 of us were eating) with chips and some beautiful fresh salad. There was so much we couldn't eat half, but the staff kindly put the rest in a 'doggy bag' for it which we ate later at the airport.

As it was recommended by TA and our host we tried the chicken piri piri. It was okay but a little bit dry. However our host was very friendly, wine was good and the deserts were lovely (choose from the fridge!'
